Serving Him

Service is one of the primary objects of Christianity. All the blessings and
privileges of the Gospel of Christ are intended for the purpose of promoting
the glory of God and good of man by means of true service. Luke 1:74
states, “We have been rescued from our enemies so we can serve God
without fear.” There is, however, something far higher than this. Our Lord
Himself became a “servant” in order to be our Savior. In the Old Testament
our Lord is called “the Servant of Jehovah,” and in the New Testament He is
described as having taken “the form of a servant.” In order to do the will of
God and redeem mankind, it was necessary for Him to humble Himself and
become a servant, so that along that pathway of service He would come to
that cross which was a beautiful example of devoted duty, redeeming grace
and Divine love.
In Isaiah chapters 40 through the end of his book, Jesus is detailed as the
Divine Messenger, a Prophetic witness, a Suffering Martyr, a Sacrificial
Victim and a Victorious King. In our earliest recorded story of Christ when
He spoke, He told His earthly parents when found in the Temple, “Didn’t
you know that I must be about my Father’s business?” He came down from
heaven not to do His own will, but to do the will of the Father. Acts 4:27
calls Jesus, “Your holy servant!” Our lives are to be surrendered to serving
our God and others. We are to be bold in living out His Word and telling
others of His Truth, Righteousness, and what’s about to take place. In doing
so we are serving the will of our Lord and giving others the Word of His
saving grace. Friends, as the Lord is getting ready to begin the end-time, we
must be on fire to serve the lost and bring them to Jesus! I believe we can
see how God’s Spirit is about to be poured out on all flesh as He prepares
for the day of His Son’s return! Don’t fall aside, serve our Lord by reaching
other’s with the great story His sacrificial love!
